Home rink was Mineola Skating Rink, and after it closed, Levittown Roller Rink.
Levittown, the rink where Gladys and George Werner danced the Werner Tango.
"It's the home of the champion and everyone knew it," said Gladys Werner of Albertson, who came to the rink as a teacher when it first opened, with the 1941, 1942 and 1946 U.S. Seniors Dance Championships already behind her.

• Started skating at 15 & 16yrs old.
• Instructed by Joeseph Carroll, the creater of "Carroll Swing Foxtrot" & "The Carroll Tango".
• "Mr. Carroll made us champions in 1941, 1942 & 1946 after George got out of the Air Force."
• 1947 - Turned Professional and were teaching in Mineola Skating Rink.
• Appointed coach of the world team for many years.
• 1992 - Inducted in the USARS Competitive Judges Hall of Fame.
